My PC Gaming Benchmarks

Okay so I just ran across this article while I sit bored out of my mind at work, and just had to roll my eyes at it. I don’t know about any of you but I am starting to get kind of tired of hearing about the whole “PC Gaming is dead, consoles are the future” crap. Sure the retail sales of PC games are starting to slump but do people ever think about what Steam, Direct2Drive or any of the other pay here download here sites have to offer. I for one just picked up Bio-Shock the other day from Steam for $25. No Tax, no shipping just had to wait about 45 min for it to download and play. Sure the console retail sales are up, since thats about the only away that you can get the games. What do they expect. A lot of the people that comment on many sites blame this on Vista and DX10. I don’t know but the last time that I checked windows XP hasn’t ceased to exist. Oh and don’t forget about the behemoth that is World of Warcraft. How much revenue does that game bring in monthly. How about the Orange Box, hell the entire valve lineup. If PC gaming is dying than why do we hear about all of these new games coming out, Age of Conan, Starcraft 2, Warhammer Online, World of Warcraft: Rise of the Lich King. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens over the next couple of years, we all might be able to only use or PC’s for Word Processing and the Internet. Of course, an internet with no games what so ever according to these people. Argh this kind of crap drives me crazy.
